The Brief
National Highways notified Evander that multiple properties within a high-rise building in Hull were situated close to a busy road, including the customer’s fourth-floor home.
Evander’s Surveyor carried out an acoustic assessment to identify the rooms affected by noise and discuss the most appropriate solution with the customer.
Following the assessment, Evander’s Noise Insulation Team recommended internal secondary glazing as the most effective and beneficial option for the property.

The Outcome
Three sets of internal secondary glazing were installed across two bedrooms and a living room, providing acoustic insulation while retaining the property’s existing windows.
Because the secondary glazing was installed internally, the works avoided the need for external access equipment such as scaffolding or cherry pickers, helping to reduce the potential for delays and additional costs.
Following installation, the customer reported a significant reduction in road noise and also found that all three rooms were warmer.

Project Overview
Wow! The noise difference is massive, it’s almost silent in my bedrooms and living room. I live very close to a main route into the city and it was very noisy at times. It’s such a reduction that my family had to get used to sleeping in silent bedrooms. They really have made a difference.
