The Issue / Problem
Lidl required a specialist glazing solution involving the temporary removal and reinstatement of curtain walling at two London stores to facilitate the installation of large commercial refrigeration units.
The existing curtain wall systems needed to be removed with precision to avoid damage to the façade and internal finishes. Works were located on busy High Streets, requiring careful coordination around public access, pedestrian safety, and local noise curfews.
Due to store trading commitments, all works had to be completed outside of operational hours. The size, weight and positioning of the glazing also required controlled lifting operations and specialist handling to ensure safety and accuracy.

The Outcome
The façade sections were removed and reinstated seamlessly, with zero disruption to store trading. The precision of the temporary removals allowed the refrigeration installation works to proceed safely, efficiently and exactly to programme.
Carefully structured out-of-hours planning eliminated operational downtime and ensured full business continuity throughout the project. Every stage was delivered with meticulous control – from specialist lifting operations to detailed access coordination, guaranteeing the curtain wall systems were reinstated to their original integrity.
The result was a technically precise, safely executed solution that protected the existing façade while meeting all operational and commercial requirements.
