Requirement
During October 2023, Evander were contacted by a longstanding client regarding extensive glazing damage at a high street bank. A large toughened unit and four laminated panels had been damaged during a malicious attack. We were asked to urgently make safe due to the significant safety and security risk and organise replacement glazing.

Solution
We quickly mobilised a specialist reactive team who were on site in under 2 hours to commence extensive emergency boarding.
The immediate requirement was removing the shattered toughened unit and make the aperture safe. The premises were effectively secured using double boarding (inside and out) so they could safely open to customers. The boards were painted black at the request of the client to improve aesthetics.
Due to the size and weight of the large cracked laminated units, a mini crane was required to deglaze. This was rapidly mobilised and the works completed on a Sunday morning, at the request of the client, with a full survey carried out during the same visit.
Costs for replacement glazing were fast-tracked for client authorisation. Once approved, an emergency permit was quickly organised through the local authority. We communicated with the market traders who operated immediately in front of the premises, who were temporarily relocated.
Replacement toughened glazing was installed in the large front aperture and laminated glass in the remaining panes including a new glass fin. We applied privacy manifestations and client branding on the front entrance glass.
All works were completed over a weekend to minimise trading and pedestrian disruption.
