As well as providing quality workmanship and a variety of home improvements, Evander can also repair your existing windows. For some of our customers, a repair is all that’s needed to ensure their windows last for years to come, so it makes economic sense for them to opt for this, rather than replace their windows altogether. We commonly attend emergencies, where a broken window repair is needed in order to secure their home. We can do this at any time of the day or night.
Although it may seem that your window is beyond repair, you’d be surprised at what the right materials and skills can do. Even where the frame is damaged as well as the glass, we can restore your window back to its former glory at a fraction of the cost of a new window. Opting for a repair also means less mess for you as well as being better for the environment. To prove the strength and longevity of this option, our repairs are fully guaranteed for two years.
When you have a window forced open or smashed due to vandalism or a robbery, it can be a very frightening and uncomfortable experience. Broken glazing and frames pose a security risk for your home and the people within it. It’s very important to get any repairs done as soon as possible, even if this simply means boarding up the affected area until daylight hours. Evander can be with you in a typical response time of just 1 hour, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We have branches all over the UK, so we’re never far from where you are. Whether you need emergency double glazing repairs, a window lock fixed, or emergency glass repair – we are here. Unlike other companies providing an emergency service, we don’t charge a call out fee, nor will we charge by the hour.
Although our full name is Evander Glazing & Locks, this doesn’t mean that we only work with windows and locks. Doors make up a large part of the business that Evander does, and we supply, fit and repair so many different types of door that we’ve become experts in our field. From patio door repairs, to installing a nice new front door to your home, to advising you on garage door repair or replacement, we can deal with almost any job.
You may have problems with your old door frame not fitting properly anymore, or you could have an issue with the glazing (window) within the door itself. Perhaps you’ve got a lock which no longer works properly or you’ve been the victim of a burglary, where your front or back door has been damage during a forced entry. Whatever the problem with your door, from uPVC door lock repairs to handles that won’t turn, Evander has probably seen it all before! We have branches spread right across the UK, from Aberdeen, to Belfast, to Cardiff, to London and all places in-between. This means that we have just a 1 hour typical response time, so you can be sure that you won’t be left in limbo for longer than you have to be. Garage Door Repairs
When your garage door isn’t working as well as it should it’s easy to start worrying about how you’re going to budget for a whole new one. What you may not realise is that garage doors can often be repaired, lengthening the lifetime of the door and helping you get the best value for money.
Issues with garage doors can be varied and some problems difficult to fix, so we will always do a quick survey (at no cost to you) before we can confirm we’re able to sort the issue for you. If your door is beyond repair, then we are happy to take measurements whilst at the survey so that you know what size garage door you’ll need to order as an eventual replacement. We have a wide range of doors available should you want to purchase a new one, but of course you are under no obligation.
Our friendly and highly-trained engineers are able to deal with repairs affecting:
- Garage door cones and cables (found primarily on the common ‘up & over’ canopy garage doors).
- Garage door lock replacements.
- Entry to your garage if the lock is jammed.
Cones and cables are a common problem area for canopy garage doors, particularly if the door has not been opened properly in the past. To explain their function in a basic way, the cables support the door panel and aide the springs in lifting the door. They wrap around a cone-shaped device on each side, which helps them to lift and release in a smooth, even action.
When you pull the door upwards – whether you have a canopy door or not – you should always lift from the centre; never from the edge. When you raise the door upwards, the cables roll around the cones at the top corners. This takes a lot of pressure off the springs and makes it much easier and lighter for you.
Lifting from the edge can cause the cable to slip lower down the cone on one side, causing your garage door to become unbalanced and open with a tilt. This can also make it more difficult to keep secure.
