Entry through a patio door is a common means of burglar entry and therefore, unless the doors are fitted with a multi-locking system, we recommend that it is best to fit extra locks. Often burglars will lift the patio door out of its frame and gain entry, or snap the handle/lock. If your patio door is more than 10 years old, it is likely not to be fitted with a multi-locking system as these started to fitted as standard around 10 years ago in the UK.
These extra locks are fitted on the bottom of the fixed frame, on the inside edge of the patio door, ensuring it is locked from the inside and preventing the actual door panel from being lifted out. Fitting of the extra lock on the inside also prevents access if the outside lock/main lock is broken by the burglar.
The locks we fit are pushed to lock and key to open and are therefore easy to use.
